I'm a writer, always looking for the story. Mike is an engineer, technology-oriented and always ready to talk shop.
We live in Durham, North Carolina with our two crazy, noisy, adorable, loveable dogs, Miles and Callie. We're both from Eastern Pennsylvania, I went to school in Pittsburgh, Mike was in the Navy for eight years, and we lived together in Norfolk, Virginia before coming to Durham.
We love exploring new places together: At our wedding, all the tables were named after great restaurants we sampled in cities we visited together. We're low-key and independent, but we enjoy meeting and talking with new people of all kinds.
I wouldn't be able to live without: cheese, literature, air conditioning, coffee, late nights to myself, straws (seriously, I drink everything through a straw), or flip-flops.
Mike wouldn't be able to live without: hot sauce, PC video gaming, his Triumph motorcycle, going barefoot, orange juice, onions, or a really good sound system.
We're both big nerds in certain specialized areas (I have a Lord of the Rings tattoo, for example, and Mike owns several video game t-shirts, and yes, that's as specific as I can be), and we both love Star Trek. Want to know about the plot holes and differences in warp drive theory between Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Voyager? what brand graphics card would suit your current PC best? the history of Aragorn's family? theories of signification as expounded in Aristotle's Poetics? We'd love to talk about any of these things with you, really.
We want you to get to know us, consider us friends, and we want to get to know you, too! We'll meet you for coffee or a sandwich, chat about who you are, what you like, your favorite thing to do on your own or as a family or couple, how you met, where you like to go, your hobbies, your favorite flavor of ice cream or favorite pizza topping, and most of all about what you want to get out of your relationship with us as your photographers. We want to get to know you so that, working together, we all end up with the best images imaginable, the ones that showcase the best things about you.
MKM Photography is available for on-location photography throughout the Triangle and surrounding areas. We have previously been based in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, and would love to travel back there--or anywhere else you can think of--for a nominal fee.
